About Madrid Barajas
Madrid Barajas is Spain's busiest airport and the main hub for Iberia. Its four runways are arranged in two parallel pairs, giving it high capacity, and Madrid's clear Castilian plateau climate means weather disruptions are less frequent than at many European airports. The main exceptions are summer thunderstorms that can develop rapidly over the meseta and occasional winter fog events in the Jarama valley that reduce visibility below ILS minima.
