About Oslo Gardermoen
Oslo Gardermoen Airport is Norway's main international airport, located 47 kilometres north of Oslo. It was purpose-built in 1998 as a high-capacity replacement for the old Fornebu Airport, with two parallel runways designed for simultaneous operations. Gardermoen's inland continental location makes it colder and snowier than coastal Norwegian cities — winter operations are a major focus, and the airport has one of the largest de-icing pads in Europe to handle the volume of aircraft requiring treatment.
