About Faro Airport
Faro Airport is the gateway to the Portuguese Algarve and one of Europe's most seasonal airports, with summer passenger volumes many times higher than winter. A single runway handles all traffic at one of southern Europe's most popular holiday destinations. The airport sits close to the Atlantic coast, and Atlantic westerly winds and occasional fog from the sea are the primary weather disruption factors.
